12 Dec #ThatsWhatILike: Appliances for Whole30 Meal Prep Success
When it comes to meal prep, I do not want to spend all day in the kitchen. I still have 100 other things I need to get done on Sunday, and watching a pot on the stove is NOT one of them. My goal for meal prep is to get it done in the shortest amount of time possible, with the least amount of dishes as possible. When I am writing my menu for the week, on my meal prep planner, there is a designated space where I write out what appliances I am going to use. I do this to figure out my cooking method, and the amount of time I need to prepare each dish. The appliances I use the most tend to get me in and out of the kitchen, and they are pretty easy to use; even for the beginner cook. I’ve compiled a list of my go-to kitchen appliances and utensils so you too can meal prep like a champ during your Whole30.
Air Fryer– I love my air fryer! This is one appliance that sits on the countertop because I used it every day, especially on my meal prep day! I love that I can use it for both cooking and reheating. In the mornings, I use my air fryer to cook turkey sausage or reheat sweet potatoes so they are nice and crispy.
Power Pressure: Talk about time saver! In 15 minutes I can cook the most moist and flavorful chicken! Soup, stews, roast, you name it, can be prepared in my pressure cooker in no time!!!
Slow Cooker:This staple appliance is still utilized in my kitchen. Not many appliances allow you to cook a delicious roast over night or while you’re out running errands.
Hamburger Chopper– This was a GAME CHANGER for me!!! I found it randomly at Walmart hanging by the Hamburger Helper. This utensil breaks down my ground meat quickly and allows it to cook more evenly. Once you try this, there is no going back to using a spatula.
Hand Immersion Blender: I use my hand immersion blender every week to make homemade dump ranch. I also use it for blending soups and smoothies! I love how easy it is to use, and how much easier it is to clean than a full size- blender.
